Purpose of this document
A customer of Atelyr wants to connect their AI Colleague to their business phone system. To do this, a SIP account is required — not a regular user account. This document explains exactly what needs to be created and how the connection works.
Important: SIP Account ≠ User Account
There is a fundamental difference between a user account and a SIP account. Atelyr exclusively requires a SIP account.
User Account | SIP Account |
A login account for a staff member in the PBX management interface. Used to log in, change settings and view reports. Atelyr does not need this. | A telephony account that allows a device or application to register with the PBX. A SIP account has a username, password and domain, and behaves like a physical phone. This is what Atelyr needs. |
Required SIP Credentials:
Provide the following three details to the customer after creating the SIP account:
SIP Username | SIP Password | SIP Domain |
The extension number or username of the SIP account. E.g: 1050 or ai-colleague | The password set for the SIP account. Use a strong password | The SIP domain or IP address of the phone system. E.g: sip.company.com or 192.168.1.1 |
